‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’ finally took place on Saturday as many of the rivalries headed towards their natural end and many new ones began. SummerSlam 2023 was full of acrobatic moves, surprise winners and most importantly ultimate betrayals. Here are the SummerSlam 2023 results:
Logan Paul vs Ricochet
The rivalry between the two dates back to when they produced their first viral moment at Royal Rumble and then when the duo botched a Spanish fly at MITB. Since MITB, Logan had disrespected Ricochet, his fiancé and the WWE universe as the two kicked things off at SummerSlam. Logan looked to be dominating for a majority of the match. It was actually a really interesting match but it turned sour when Logan used brass knuckles to knock Ricochet out and win the fight through unfair means.
Winner: Logan Paul
Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes passes the ultimate test as he beat Brock Lesnar after being put through hell by the beast incarnate. Throughout the course of the match, Cody endured a lot of punishment and even managed to escape the kimura lock before finally delivering a hat-trick of Cross-Rhodes to finish off the beast. The feud is definitely over as Lesnar shook Cody’s hand and hugged him before exiting the arena.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Battle Royale presented by Slim Jim
A match with many big names such as Nakamura, Ciampa, Oslo, LA Knight and Sheamus. The Battle Royale presented a number of moment leading upto the brawl between Sheamus and LA Knight as they were the last two men left. The WWE universe finally gave the fans what they want as LA knight emerged victorious.
Winner: LA Knight
Ronda Rousey vs Shayna Bazsler MMA Rules match
The ex-best friends turned enemies fought in an MMA rules match which meant the only way to win would be through pinfall or submission. The two former UFC fighters went at it and was an interesting match as they both knew how to counter the hold by the other. Bazsler took the laurels as Ronda passed out after being put into a choke hold.
Winner: Shayna Bazsler
Gunther vs Drew McIntyre: Intercontinental Championship Match
The two powerhouses went at it for the first time since their match at WrestleMania. It seemed as though McIntyre would end the impressive reign of the Ring General who for the first time did not look entirely comfortable in the ring. McIntyre grew desperate after not being able to put Gunther down as he went to the top rope with Gunther, but it backfired and ended with him being power bombed by Gunther. Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs Finn Balor World Heavyweight Championship Match
This match was fueled by seven years of despair and obsession from Balor’s side as the two superstars faced each other seven years ago at SummerSlam. Balor looked to be in control until The Judgement Day showed up. MITB winner Damian Priest tried to help Balor by sliding him the MITB briefcase and distracting the referee. It did not exactly work in Balor’s favour as Rollins stomped Balor on the briefcase, retaining the title in the process.

Asuka vs Charlotte Flair vs Bianca Belair WWE Women’s Championship Match
The triple threat match was as exciting as it could have been as the trio went beyond the safety limits to try and win the prize. It seemed as though heartbreak beckoned for Belair who injured her knee and was being escorted out by the medicals. Belair could not go through with giving up as she showed her desire to win the title by returning with an injured knee. Belair was being punished by Flair for doing so as she had her bad knee locked into a submission but a smart move from Belair ended up putting Asuka in the pin and winning the championship. Her celebrations were short-lived as out came Iyo Sky, the winner of the MITB briefcase.

Iyo Sky vs Bianca Belair WWE Women’s Championship Match
I
vo Sky attacked Bianca’s bad knees and did not have to do much to pin the exhausted Belair and become the new Women’s Champion.

Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match – Tribal Combat
The bloodline storyline came to a reckoning as Jey Uso faced Roman Reigns in what is undoubtedly the biggest match of his career and he did not shy down from the opportunity. Jey Uso kept fighting no matter what Roman put him through, whether that by the steps, the table or somechairs. Jey Uso even fought off Solo and Roman single handedly. It seemed as though nothing could stop Jey from becoming the Tribal Chief and the new champion as he speared Roman for the third time and capped it off with an Uso splash. As soon as he went for the pin, a man whose face was covered saved Roman as he pulled Jey out of the ring. It was Jimmy Uso. The man whose injury fueled Jey to take on the best ever WWE Universal Champion and almost succeed. It was the betrayal of the highest order as Jimmy put Jey down with a superkick. Roman did not have to do much after that as he speared Jey Uso through the table and retain the title and his place as Tribal Chief.
