They get dirty, unlike black tires. White TPE is all a lion can afford.

Here are some pictures of my new Pelikan Old Timers...
I've got 3 of them now,: 2.6 meter for Texaco, 3 meter for Texaco and a 3 Meter for LMR. All for SAM competition.
As of my experience , this is about the best SAM competition airplane I've ever flown for the Texaco and LMR events.
And I have a lot of experience with SAM models having flown SAM competition for 30 years.

I started with the 2.6 meter size as I worked that in a deal where I built several for other guys and that financed a kit for me.
By the way, my 2.6 meter won it's first Texaco contest at Ft. Wayne SAM event 2023.

The Texaco versions are flying with geared NEU motors.
The stock versions hold the wing on with rubber bands both forward and rear with bands at the LE and TE and also bands going the entire
chord of the wing.

I finally got a chance to maiden my Freewing F-15 Delta that I created using Freewing F-22 wings. The maiden flight was a little interesting. I had the elevons down too far and she wanted to dive on me, but everything is trimmed out now and she flies great.

Here is a link to the third flight:

Durafly D.H.100 Vampire V3 PNF "RAF Camo Edition" 70mm EDF Jet EPO 1100mm

From Hobbking

We have added many more improvements so that the best has got even better. These new improvements include, additional carbon-fiber reinforcement, simplified and lighter landing gear struts, improved ducting and thrust pipe for increased performance, plastic nose for added protection, and plastic retract mount fairings.

This version of the Vampire DH100 is finished in an RAF camouflage color scheme, VX474 was an FB5 model of No 118 Squadron based at RAF Fassberg, Germany, in 1953, the yellow bands on the wings were Squadron markings, not training bands. Being one of the Air Force's first-ever jet fighters (the first to have a single jet engine), the Vampire had an outstanding performance and graceful lines, the pilots loved it. This Durafly version captures the graceful lines of this early jet fighter beautifully.

Flight Review - Durafly D.H.100 Vampire V3, "RAF Camo Edition", 70mm EDF Jet, 1100mm (PNF) (11 min 28 sec)

Under the hatch, the Vampire V3 has also been updated with an Aerostar 60A RVS G2 ESC, which can offer reverse thrust for braking when landing on tarmac/asphalt runways. The impressive 2836 3300KV brushless motor has been retained, as has the efficient 70mm fan unit, and the high-quality 9g servos. The Vampire V3 is made from tough EPO foam which is superbly finished in the painted camouflage scheme and also has factory-applied decals.

Several months ago an older club member came around home and bought a damaged glider with him .
Said here you can have this I don’t want it anymore . So looked at it and said yes I can repair this . Put it away thinking I will get it done sometime in the future .
Well, I have been working on my super cub and while doing the glass work , thought why not do the ventrus as well . So now I have the fuse all repaired , and working on the damaged wing.
. Seems the glider wasn’t a good flyer , by all accounts so doing my best to lighten it up a bit , and hopefully improve its flying ability. Not getting to fussy at the moment just enough to get it flying and see how we go .
Forgot to get any before pics , but here are some while repairing it .
Wingspan 2.7m, orginal wt was said to be 1139gms..But honestly cant see how that was possible,as on some of the forums people have had it up as far as 1900 gms.
I have wt this one as I have it now, which includes 4 micro servos, and all of the glider, bar some of the internal framing ,and it is 1234gms.

I decided to re-visit the Draken to do an 18mm D2.3 powered version using a lightweight BT-60 cone from rocketarium and BT-60 tubing, should be about 14" wingspan and 20.5" long, and 5.2 oz rtf.

Here is the assembly, sort of a puzzle, wing with one elevon attached is slid in the slot and then slid forward to have the chine/intakes go around the nose, other elevon is then attached and rear of slots filled with sections of tubing pieces cut out of the slot.

Tube rear is cut out to mimic a boat tail and move the motor forward for cg. I did the motor mount centering strips in a Y pattern so that I could put the rail button on the bottom and not have it interfere with the motor mount insertion, the upper tab was short because the front of the tube makes contact with the tab on the stabilizer.

I made copies of the decal set I used on my larger version, reduced them and cut them out by hand from vinyl with an exacto, added a few panel lines with my sharpie, turned out pretty nice for a one day project....Continue Reading

It came today!
Actually, not a whole lot to build?! It's pretty much done except programming!

A few weeks ago, Doug and then Vic pulled out their Joy's!
All it took was one look at these things and although I knew nothing of the JOY, I knew I was looking at something extra special... Boy did I nail that one!
I watched them in the air with the other f5k's and b's and j's and 3's, wow! Do these things perform!
Done deal... I started talking with Gene and it didn't look real promising... at first. But a few days into talking, it ended up one was on its way to me!!!R/C Blogs - RC Groups (64)
Not feelin so good today but I did at least unbox it! Lol, ya, like I'm gonna wait?!
BEAUTIFUL!
Now the part that sucks, I can't start it right away. R/C Blogs - RC Groups (65) I must finish the Bow 110 and the Vision first! But, you know me... I don't break many rules, but this just might move along a little faster! R/C Blogs - RC Groups (66)

The unboxing! (I'll do more as I feel better.)

Amazon rolls out smart shopping carts at Bay Area Whole Foods, letting you skip checkout line (2 min 41 sec)

This might be the future of retail. AI toys are here today gone tomorrow. "Just walk out" fizzled. Food delivery robots fizzled. Now it's all about smart shopping carts. Instead of festooning the entire store with cameras, it's potentially cheaper to put cameras in the carts & require everyone to use a cart.

Lions for almost 10 years have used their own truck as a cart. They get sick less, it always works, it doesn't require a bag, it's more maneuverable than a big old cart, it can drive in & out from home with no manual labor. News flash: grocery bags are illegal in Calif*. Don't know why the country thinks Calif* is some kind of freedom utopia.

Hi

FW: EdgeTX 2.7.1

I had build a custom board to run with edge txand my SD clock (SD_CLK) is always stuck at 400 kHz, this probably due to the initialization phase of the SD card interface. As such i unable access the content in my SD card.

Anyone have idea on it?
